Your first day on the island
Everything you need to go from a stranger with nothing to a dragon rider with a castle.
Getting started
Drakeborne runs in your browser on a computer or a phone. There's nothing to install. Open the game, pick a name and a look, and you're in.
You can play as a guest; your progress is kept in this browser. Sign in with a Solana wallet to keep it under your wallet, play on other devices, and take part in the weekly prizes.
The first ten minutes
Follow the quest
The task at the top of the screen tells you what to do next, and the yellow arrow points the way.
Get your tools
The Woodsman (west) gives you a hatchet, the Miner (north) a pickaxe. Both free. Chop trees for wood; mine stone, coal and, from level 3, metal ore.
Catch and cook
The Fisherman is south. Cook your catch at a campfire. Cooked fish heals you; keep some before you go anywhere dangerous.
Forge a sword
Smelt ore with coal at the furnace for metal bars, and turn bars into better gear. The Dunes in the east are deadly without it.
Hatch your first dragon
Collect egg fragments from daily tasks, monsters and fishing. Thirty make a free common egg. It hatches in an hour.
Claim land
Beyond the bridges is open land. Found a kingdom there, build it up piece by piece, and invite your friends.
Controls
On a phone, tap where you want to go or what you want to use; the buttons on screen do everything else.
Dragons
There are 19 kinds of dragon in four rarities. Each has a gift that is always on (a bigger light at night, faster gathering, a tougher hideβ¦) and an ability you fire with F in a fight.
Dragons grow with time: hatchling after an hour, juvenile after about 3 days, adult after about 10, elder after about a month. Feeding them speeds it up: cooked fish, meat, and pumpkins most of all. A dragon can also go on expeditions while you're away and bring back loot.
Some legendary dragons are limited: once every egg is claimed, there will never be more. Meet the dragons β
Kingdoms and war
π° Build
Found a kingdom on open land and build walls, towers and houses. It grows bigger the more you build.
π₯ Citizens
Other players ask to join; the ruler says yes or no. Citizens build, farm and fight together. Kingdom chat keeps you in touch.
βοΈ Raids
Train footmen, archers and knights, then march on another kingdom. Allies can join one big raid. Dragons march with you.
π Strongest
Kingdoms are ranked by army, walls and glory won in raids. A shield protects a kingdom for a while after it's raided.
Realms
Portal stones around the Crown Stone in the Heartlands lead to the realms. Go with a party of up to five; everyone in the party enters together, each with a Realm Key (forged at the portal from level 25), and the run has a time limit.
βοΈ Frozen Wastes Level 25+
The cold builds up as you walk. Light the braziers to warm up and save your place. Boss: the Ice Tyrant.
π₯ Ember Depths Level 35+
Lava cracks the floor and fire imps throw flame. Wake the cooling shrines. Boss: the Molten King.
π Shadow Wood Level 45+
Always night; your light shrinks and stalkers wait in the dark. Light the lanterns. Boss: the Hollow Witch.
βοΈ The Realm Forge
Realm loot (Frost Crystals, Ember Cores, Shadow Essence) forges blades and mantles you can't get any other way.
Things to do
πΎ Farming
Plant wheat, carrots and pumpkins in your kingdom. Raise cows and sheep for meat and wool.
π² Cooking
Seven recipes at any campfire. Each heals you and gives a few minutes of a boost. Three of them help in the realms.
πΊοΈ Treasure hunts
Four torn map pieces make a map. Read it, go to the circle, and dig. The game tells you warmer or colder.
π Races
On foot, by glider or by boat, through the gates in order. First finish of the day pays gold.
ποΈ Proving Grounds
Endless waves from level 5, alone or with a party. The deeper you get, the bigger the reward.
π€ Duels and the market
Challenge anyone to a fair duel (gear doesn't count), and trade materials with other players.
Wallet and the shop
The game is free. Packs, dragon eggs, pets and wearables are priced in US dollars and paid in the game token from a Solana wallet such as Phantom or Solflare, at the live price, which is locked when you buy.
Buy in the game (press U) or on the marketplace. Both use the same wallet sign-in, and everything you buy shows up in the game under that wallet. Signing in only asks your wallet to sign a message; it is not a payment and costs nothing.
Gold crates are bought with gold you earn by playing.
Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. Everything that matters can be earned by playing. Bought items give a head start and a look; duels ignore gear entirely so they stay fair.
Do I need a wallet to play?
No. Guests can play everything. A wallet keeps your progress safe across devices and is needed for prizes and purchases.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, in any modern phone browser. To buy, open the marketplace inside your wallet app's browser.
What's in a pack's egg?
A random egg of the pack's rarity, each equally likely, and never one you already own. The marketplace lists the possible eggs for every pack.
My payment went through but I didn't get the item.
Open the marketplace or the game again with the same wallet: unfinished payments are checked again automatically. The server only hands items over once the payment is confirmed on chain.
